Lörinczy, György: New York, New York In 1968 when the mainstream language of photography, even among artists, was still the clear ‘perfect’ image, Hungarian photographer Lörinczy György travelled to New York, returning home with these blurry, high-contrast, occasionally solarized images. We see parallels to the untamed images produced by the photographers of the Japanese Provoke group who were also active around this time. A wild conglomeration of images, tight crops and zooms transmit the spirit and emotion of the time and of the photographer himself.
