Mahn, Jule Claudia: Wir kommen nicht wieder / We won´t be coming back
You know how it is: waiting for something somewhere, you suddenly find yourself a silent observer of irritating street scenes in which people are behaving strangely, obviously trying to hide something, or being treated puzzlingly by their counterparts.
A thought experiment: How does our view change when we gain insight into the before or the after? The paths lead in different directions through dark terrain. Following the light, the reader enters the refuges of four women. Gradually, their story unfolds. Where external circumstances have long since begun to threaten the women and force them to change, everyday actions and rituals restore security and dignity. To what extent their fates are interwoven and in what time they live is part of the mind game. There is no resolution, only possible mappings. At any time, people have become accustomed to the loss of freedom and security and have settled their lives in it.
