Egidija Čiricaitė - weaving patterns for poetry / poezijos raštai
Egidija Čiricaitė plays with and around language by writing, typing, publishing, performing and conducting academic research, creating “nebulous worlds on the periphery of linguistic experience”. She uses the typewriter as a printing tool, exploring “typing” as a metaphor for weaving and “weaving” as a metaphor for writing and speaking. Inspired by southern Lithuanian textiles, her work moves in a twilight state between poetry, print and performance.
She was born in Kaunas, Lithuania and now lives in London where she is pursuing an interdisciplinary PhD at the Slade and UCL Linguistics, London.
