Deeg, Daniela / Lollis, Cynthia: Sammlungen / Collections
Artists Daniela Deeg and Cynthia Lollis traveled to Vienna (W) to research content and images for their new artist's book for their new artist book. Originally, they wanted to deal with the patients of Sigmund Freud, but then they were
but were drawn to the city's many obsessive (museum) collections.
In the resulting book Sammlungen/Collections, the women are therefore linked to objects that theartists found in two major Viennese collections: the Natural History Museum (NH) and the Hofimobiliendepot (M). The latter - now renamed the Möbelmuseum Wien - was a repository for discarded imperial furniture from various Habsburg residences.
Images and patterns from the collections, text fragments with links to the patients, and elements of the artists' journey
the artists' journey through the city were collected and printed for this book as silkscreens, risographs and laser prints.
