MacCallum, Marlene: Corner Corner is the final book work in a series inspired by living in Corner Brook’s Townsite area. It is also the culmination of my research project into Artist’s Publishing. In this piece I return to the use of photogravure to create a hand printed and bound book work. The reading experience provides an interplay between the architecture of the book and of the imagery. The images lead the viewer through domestic spaces; starting with sparsely furnished entrances and gradually moving into more densely filled and layered living spaces. Each page spread cradles an unoccupied space charged with implied conversations between absent inhabitants. en., archival digital pigment print, fifteen hand-printed copperplate photogravures on Somerset paper, accordion book, 10.3 x 5.2 inch, Ed. of 14, num., sign., Ameliasburg, 2013 Request of availability backnext
